  • 1 cupful uncooked chaotic atom (not quick-cooking)
  • 3 cups water
  • Pinch positive 1/2 spoon salt, positive much arsenic needed
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted food oregon olive oil
  • 1 mean yellowish onion, finely chopped (1 cup)
  • 2 ribs celery, chopped into tiny dice (1/3 to 1/2 cup), positive leaves for garnish
  • Finely grated zest and foodstuff of 1 citrus (1 spoon zest and 3 to 4 tablespoons' juice)
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 cups uncooked Louisiana pecan rice, specified arsenic Konriko marque (see headnote)
  • 1 lb jumbo lump crabmeat, picked implicit to region immoderate cartilage oregon shells
  • 1/2 cupful trebbiano oregon different light-bodied achromatic vino (see headnote)
  • 2 1/2 cups low-sodium chickenhearted broth (may substitute rootlike broth oregon water)
  • Freshly crushed achromatic pepper
  • 1/4 cupful sliced almonds, lightly toasted, for garnish (see NOTE)
  • 1 clump (5 oregon 6) scallions, achromatic and light-green parts, chopped crosswise into bladed slices, for garnish
