Horchata is simply a accepted refresher successful Spain and Latin America, typically made with almonds and atom oregon different grains.

Here, it is combined with an aged, spice-infused tequila for a spicy, warming (and vegan) eggnog substitute. It tin beryllium served lukewarm oregon cold.

  • 2 cups uncooked long-grain brownish rice, crushed to pulverization successful a spice grinder
  • 1 cupful lightly toasted almonds, crushed to pulverization successful a spice grinder (see NOTES)
  • Two 3 -inch cinnamon sticks, breached into pieces
  • 3 cups blistery (not rather boiling) water
  • 1 cupful acold water
  • 13 ounces canned coconut milk
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons vanilla extract
  • 4 ounces turbinado syrup (see NOTES)
