  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 5 tiny dried reddish chile peppers, stemmed, seeded if desired, past finely chopped
  • 4 bay leaves, crushed
  • 1 tablespoonful fennel seeds
  • Water
  • 1 spoon roasted cumin pulverization (see headnote)
  • 1 spoon reddish chili powder
  • 1/2 spoon crushed achromatic brackish (see headnote)
  • Salt
