Nasdaq approaches correction territory; S&P 500 gives up postelection gains
Stocks tumbled Tuesday aft President Trump imposed tariffs connected imports from Mexico and Canada, dragging the Nasdaq Composite adjacent to correction territory and erasing the S&P 500’s post-election gains.
The tech-heavy Nasdaq fell 0.8%, leaving it down astir 10% from its caller precocious successful December. The benchmark S&P 500 was down 1.3%, connected way for its lowest adjacent since earlier the Nov. 5 election. The Dow dropped 1.5%.
