This saltation connected a Manhattan, primitively created astatine New York's Milk & Honey, is 1 of the iconic drinks of the "aughts" and their cocktail renaissance. It is the relative of the Greenpoint (see related look online); alternatively of Chartreuse it calls for maraschino liqueur (which is not to beryllium confused with the foodstuff from maraschino cherries).

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces rye whiskey
  • 1/2 ounce Punt e Mes (an Italian vermouth)
  • 1/4 ounce maraschino liqueur, preferably Luxardo (see headnote)
  • Maraschino cherry oregon preserved cherry, for garnish (see related recipe)
