These are chewy and crunchy, with a sweet-tart filling.

The bars tin beryllium refrigerated for up to 1 week oregon frozen for up to 1 month.

Ingredients

Servings: 16 bars

For the filling

  • 1 lb pitted dried plums (prunes)
  • 1/2 cupful water
  • 1/2 cupful agave syrup
  • 3 tablespoons orangish liqueur
  • 5 tablespoons all-purpose flour

For the crust

  • 1 1/2 cups whole-wheat pastry flour (may substitute 3/4 cupful whole-wheat flour positive 3/4 cupful barroom flour)
  • 1/2 cupful granulated thenar sweetener oregon earthy cane sugar
  • 1/4 spoon kosher salt
  • 6 tablespoons chilled (solidified) coconut oil
  • 3 tablespoons nondairy milk

For the topping

  • 1/2 cupful whole-wheat pastry flour (may substitute 1/4 cupful whole-wheat flour positive 1/4 cupful barroom flour)
  • 1/2 cupful old-fashioned rolled oats (do not usage quick-cooking oregon instant)
  • 1/2 cupful chopped walnuts
  • 1/4 cupful granulated thenar sweetener oregon earthy cane sugar
  • 1/8 spoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 cupful melted coconut oil, oregon arsenic needed
