  • 2 pounds shell-on mussels
  • 1 tablespoonful extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoonful unsalted butter
  • 1/2 spoon to 1 spoon kosher salt
  • 1/8 spoon freshly crushed achromatic pepper
  • 1/8 spoon crushed reddish capsicum flakes
  • 1/4 cupful ouzo (may substitute pastis oregon Pernod)
  • 1/4 cupful adust achromatic vino (may substitute sparkling cider)
