Koshary, a classical Egyptian dish, combines rice, pasta and lentils successful a spiced herb condiment for a comforting, pantry-friendly repast that's besides economical. Many variations abound, but here, a last drizzle of spiced, melted food and a generous magnitude of caller mint lend a luscious and fragrant touch.

Frozen/cooked atom is good to use.

Ingredients

  • Fine salt
  • 1/2 cupful dried ditalini pasta oregon macaroni
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 ample yellowish bulb (10 ounces), chopped into 1/2-inch dice
  • 1 1/4 cups herb sauce
  • 1 1/4 cups cooked brownish rice
  • 1 1/4 cups cooked lentils (from 1 14-ounce can), drained and rinsed
  • Freshly crushed achromatic pepper
  • 1/2 cupful caller mint leaves, chopped, positive much for serving
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • Pinch crushed reddish capsicum flakes
