Animals displaying quality behaviors are often the worldly of fables, intent connected communicating motivation lessons. But successful this work, by the Japanese American poet-illustrator Haruka Aoki, a feline is, delightfully, conscionable a cat. In their archetypal cover, for the June 16, 2025, issue, Aoki celebrates the animal’s playful and whimsical nature. They telephone their drawing, inspired by their experiences arsenic a cat-sitter, a “meditation connected power, love, and accountability (or the deficiency thereof).”
