  • 4 strips wakame seaweed, specified arsenic Eden brand
  • 6 cups acold water
  • 1/2 cupful lightly packed bonito flakes, specified arsenic Eden brand
  • 1 tablespoonful extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 tiny yellowish onion, chopped (about 1 cup)
  • 1 3-inch portion peeled ginger root, finely chopped oregon grated (about 2 tablespoons)
  • 1 lb carrots, trimmed and coarsely grated
  • 1 spoon to 2 teaspoons unseasoned atom vinegar (may substitute achromatic vinegar)
  • Sea salt
  • 1/4 cupful roasted pumpkin seeds, oregon earthy unsalted pumpkin seeds, toasted (see NOTE)
