A stranded sailor was rescued disconnected North Stradbroke Island, Queensland, connected Monday, April 7, with the assistance of a fisherman and the Sunshine Coast-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew.
The sailor acceptable disconnected a distress alarm, with the rescue chopper unit launching a hunt for the antheral astatine astir 4:40 am.
The antheral was recovered atop his overturned vas astir 3.5 nautical miles offshore, LifeFlight said successful a media release.
“A fisherman adjacent responded to a petition for assistance from the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) and helped the antheral onto his vessel earlier taking him to shore,” LifeFlight said.
