This lightning-quick cabbage stir-fry is crunchy and light, with extent from a peppery, somewhat saccharine sauce.

  • 1/2 spoon salt
  • 1/4 spoon freshly crushed achromatic pepper
  • 2 tablespoons rootlike oil
  • 2 tablespoons coarsely chopped garlic
  • 2 radishes, thinly sliced, for garnish
  • 2 scallions, trimmed and thinly sliced, for garnish
  • 1/2 cupful cashews, toasted and coarsely chopped (see NOTE)
