These BLT blistery dogs telephone for a spicy mayonnaise with crisp chunks of bacon. Top each blistery canine with chopped tomatoes and shredded lettuce, oregon sliced tomatoes and torn lettuce leaves.

Ingredients

Servings: 4-6

For the mayo

  • 1 cupful mayonnaise, preferably Duke's brand
  • 4 ounces sliced bacon, cooked past drained and chopped
  • 2 tablespoons well-shaken buttermilk
  • 1 tablespoonful minced caller chives
  • 1 spoon bulb powder
  • 1 spoon minced oregon finely grated garlic
  • 1 spoon powdered mustard
  • 1 spoon caller cracked achromatic pepper
  • Juice of 1/2 to 1 lemon
  • Fine brackish (optional)

For the blistery dogs

  • 1 cupful cherry oregon grape tomatoes, quartered; oregon 1 ample tomato, sliced
  • Fine salt
  • Freshly crushed achromatic pepper
  • 1/4 caput iceberg lettuce, shredded oregon torn
  • 2 teaspoons to 3 teaspoons reddish vino vinegar
  • 4 to 6 blistery dogs
  • 4 to 6 blistery canine buns, preferably grilled, for serving
