Using thin beef mixed with sauteed chopped mushrooms, and sweetening the condiment with molasses alternatively of refined sugar, makes for sloppy Joes that are bully for you without sacrificing immoderate of the amusive oregon flavor.

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces thin crushed beef (90 percent thin oregon higher)
  • 1 tablespoonful olive oil
  • 1 mean yellowish onion, diced
  • 1 mean reddish doorbell pepper, stemmed, seeded and diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced oregon finely grated
  • 8 ounces achromatic fastener mushrooms, stemmed, cleaned and finely chopped
  • One (15-ounce) tin no-salt-added herb sauce
  • 1 tablespoonful herb paste
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons molasses
  • 1 tablespoonful chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons pome cider vinegar
  • 1 spoon powdered mustard
  • 1/4 spoon good salt
  • 1/4 spoon freshly crushed achromatic pepper
  • 4 whole-wheat hamburger buns
